This year, UMMTA is going back to Fringe! Charlie's Cultish Christmas, which featured in The Sitzprobe 2023, is being reimagined into a 60-minute musical, to be presented in the first week of the 2023 Melbourne Fringe Festival.
Excitable young Charlie is obsessed with everything to do with Christmas, especially Santa Claus! On Christmas Eve, a stranger named Santana approaches them claiming to be one of Santa’s helpers, and gives them a volume containing a ritual that promises to summon Santa. With the help of Charlie’s friends Sam and TJ, Charlie performs the ritual… only to summon Satan instead! It is now up to the trio to try and stop Satan, but it isn’t as easy as you think! They also need to watch out for Satan’s devilish sinners while refraining from committing any of the seven deadly sins. Otherwise… they doom the WORLD to eternal damnation!
